Former Total Baseball Vipers was 2022 Johnny Bench Award Winner

Total Baseball Vipers alum (8u-14u) and Georgia Tech catcher Kevin Parada was the 11th overall pick in the 2022 Draft. The New York Mets selected Kevin Parada, the first of four Draft selections on a day that saw the Mets restock their farm system with an influx of talent.

Parada was recently named the winner of the Johnny Bench Award, which is selected by the Hall of Fame catcher himself.

Parada finished the regular season sixth in Division I with 26 home runs and in the top 10 in total bases, RBIs and runs.

The home-run total also broke a school record that had stood since 1990.

Parada, already a unanimous first-team All-American, Parada finished his sophomore season at Tech with a school-record 26 home runs and completed the regular season in the top five nationally in total bases, RBIs and runs.
